Gaza: Israeli forces have begun levelling large sections of Palestinian-owned agricultural land between the towns of Kifl Haris and Haris, northwest of Salfit in the occupied West Bank on April 23, 2025.
Local official Omar Samara stated that Israeli bulldozers arrived early in the morning and began razing farmland, marking the latest move in a series of land seizures intended to expand illegal Israeli settlements in the region. The land in question belongs to Palestinian residents of Haris.
This operation reflects an escalating trend of land confiscation under Israel's current far-right government, which includes ministers who are settlers themselves. The administration has intensified land-grabbing activities across the occupied Palestinian territories, alongside home demolitions and infrastructure destruction.
In 2024 alone, Israel appropriated 24.7 square kilometers of Palestinian land—more than the total area seized in the previous two decades combined. Human rights organizations have condemned these actions as clear violations of international law, warning that they further destabilize the region and undermine any prospects for peace.
